Question for anyone who's been adopted?

I've always been curious how adoptees feel about both sets of parents. I always assumed I would be eager to meet my birth parents (I've always been interested in my ancestors and genealogy anyway) but then again I wasn't adopted. Don't get me wrong, I definitely see why some people view it as total abandonment, but this is the way I see it: The birth parents wanted their kid to have a better life than they were able to give them (financially, emotionally, etc.). And like going through a break-up, sometimes it's easier to sever ties completely, even though you still really care. If they really didn't care about the child they would have had an abortion rather than suffer 9 months of morning sickness, stretch marks, cravings, and all the other fun stuff that comes with pregnancies. Agree? Disagree? Agree in part? I'm interested in what adoptees have to say, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has an opinion or has ever thought it out.
