Kids of parents who were never there?

Well, my mom was never there and my dad was everything to us. I am in my early 30's and I admit I am still angry, but I don't feel abandonment. It has caused me to have a high expectation of how parents should be and have little tolerance for parents that make excuses of why they can't or couldn't be there.
